Hillside Golf Club is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Sidney, Nebraska.
The course was designed by Luckett and Vander Zee. Hillside Golf Course opened in 1962. The back nine was added in 1993. The course was designed by Luckett & Vander Zee. The course has been rennovated by Andy Staples.
The course has hilly fairways and fast greens. Hillside winds over and around small bluffs in southern Sidney. The hillside holes have narrow rolling fairways full of dips and undulations. The holes that lie between the bluffs have long, narrow fairways that are bound by the bases of the bluffs. Water comes into play on hole #14, a 570-yard, par 5, with a lake sitting along the left, front side of the green. The fourteenth is a monster par 5 with trees positioned to discourage cutting the corner.
The creatively-designed back nine was added in '93. It uses the lay of the land to create some wonderfully challenging and scenic holes. You tee off from the side of a bluff to the fairway 30 feet below on the tenth.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,924 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,308 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 3, a par-5 that plays to 600 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 17, a par-3 that plays to 165 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 18, a 407 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 2, a 223 yard par-3.
